We are a small private practice located in Clinton, Mississippi (just outside Jackson, Mississippi) specializing in assessment and treatment of Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). We provide thorough auditory processing disorder evaluations and individualized, deficit-specific therapy based on each child’s unique profile. Auditory Processing Center also offers virtual auditory processing evaluations and virtual auditory processing therapy. Our expertise helps individuals overcome the processing deficits that interfere with comprehension and communication to enhance learning and academic performance. We also provide consultations for patients throughout the United States as well as internationally.
Due to the high quality and unique nature of our services, it is not unusual for families to travel to Auditory Processing Center from other states for an evaluation and/or treatment. We are committed to taking as much time as necessary for each appointment and helping you understand the why behind our recommendations. A full Auditory Processing Disorder evaluation takes approximately 3-4 hours followed by a 1 ½ to 2 hour counseling session the same afternoon to go over test results and recommendations. Parents are given immediate feedback with individualized, detailed recommendations for treatment, helpful teaching strategies, and guidelines for academic accommodations. The same-day feedback provided by our team allows you to understand your child’s unique profile. The written summary outlines the next steps to take in order to help your child reach his/her full potential. This enables you to immediately get started with treatment to help your child and be able to share this information with your child’s teachers prior to receiving the full report.
Our team is dedicated to providing the best service for listening and learning difficulties to put your child on the path for future success. Our cheerful, fun atmosphere immediately places children at ease, and our relaxed, friendly team easily establish rapport. Children enjoy our playroom during breaks and while we are meeting with parents. It is quite common for children to say “I love this place!” and “I could stay here all day.” For more information, feel free to contact us at 601-488-4189.
